![]() ![]() I am not a fan of card mechanics in games that aren’t card games. If not for the fact that it’s a Marvel game featuring characters I actually like, I probably wouldn’t even be writing this post right now.Įven though Marvel’s Midnight Suns is both a Marvel game and a tactical turn-based game, two things I really love, I was completely turned off by so much of what was being said about it. The only reason I even considered looking into this game was the fact that it’s a Marvel game. I’m just saying that when I tried XCOM I didn’t like it and that I have no interest in the other games that the studio has put out since its founding in 1996. I don’t like XCOM, and I’ve never had any interest in Civilization. First of all, I’m not a fan of Firaxis Games. ![]() I have no problem admitting that I disliked so much about the pre-release marketing of this game. In December of last year, Firaxis Games released Marvel’s Midnight Suns. I can’t think of a better example of this problem in action than Marvel’s Midnight Suns. Several months ago, I wrote a post about the new version of PlayStation Plus locking game trials behind its most expensive price tier, and how that was a detriment to gamers and sales. On this very blog, I have written multiple posts advocating for all games to have free demos. If you don’t know what that is, Google it, kid. But I still wanted to take the time to write it, because it needs to be said. Nor will it be one that’s particularly surprising or revolutionary. ![]()
